TK’s MLB Power Pack – Week of 5/24

by TK May 25th, 2008 | Baseball, MLB
MLB Power Pack has only one change this week with New England's Boston Red Sox returning to the mix. The 5 best teams in the MLB, as determined by me, follow:

Week 7 - 5/24/08:

5. Tampa Bay Rays - I just had to leave them on the list for a second week.

4. Los Angeles Angels - Getting John Lackey off the disabled list has been a great boost to the staff.

3. Boston Red Sox - If the starting pitching holds up, I don't see anyone catching them in the AL.

2. Chicago Cubs - The NL run-scoring juggernaut is poised

TK’s MLB Power Pack – Week of 5/18/2008

by TK May 17th, 2008 | Baseball, MLB
MLB Power Pack has had some dramatic shifts! It is amazing how a week really can change the power structure of the league, with lots of new additions and deletions this week. The 5 best teams in the MLB, as determined by me, follow:

Week 6 - 5/17/08:

5. Tampa Bay Rays - It is hard to believe that at this point in the season I get to put the Rays in this list. They have a lot more young talent than even they realized.

4. Los Angeles Angels - Gary Matthews, Jr. as a lead-off hitter leaves something

TK’s MLB Power Pack – Week of 5/10/08

by TK May 11th, 2008 | Baseball, MLB
MLB Power Pack is beginning to see a real trend. The same 5 teams have been in the rankings for weeks, and I don't see any reason for that to change. The 5 best teams in the MLB, as determined by me, follow:

Week 5 - 5/10/08:

5. Boston Red Sox - This run scoring machine may just run away with the AL East.

4. St. Louis Cardinals - Were Ankiel's two throws from centerfield this week just awesome to watch, or what? This team has all the trappings of a winner.

3. Los Angeles Angels - Vlad is

Sports and Pizza

by LJ Dovichi May 8th, 2008 | Basketball, NBA
I wished I lived in Cleveland, Ohio for no other reason than $0.23 large one topping pizzas on Thursday, May 8th.

Apparently, Papa John's, a popular pizza chain, distributed T-shirts that featured the number 23 and the word crybaby under it. The dig was towards LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers. It seems that James complained about "hard fouls" after a game. Which in and of itself doesn't trigger the shirts, but then Washington Wizards center, Brendan Haywood, called him a crybaby, and thus the infamous shirts were born. During a game between the Wizards and the Cavaliers in Washington,
