Debating The Details: Is Golf a sport or a game of skill?

This has been debated before, but what evidence is there for either side? On one side of the spectrum you must admit that golfers are usually in good physical shape and play through even extremely severe elements of weather. The opposite argument would point out that it would not appear to take much athletic ability to strike a ball that is sitting stationary on the ground.


Another pro-sport note is that in the height of competition and in bigger tournaments golfers display nerves of steel as they march to victory.
