The Super Bowl is going to be played in New Jersey in 2014. It is a fact and I just have to accept it. But why? What were the NFL owners thinking?
I know that money talks. It always has and it always will. But somewhere down the line common sense has to trump money. It just has to.
The vote held by the NFL owners this week was nothing but a formality. Since the dawn of time, outdoor cold weather stadiums were prohibited from bidding to host the Super Bowl. Not this
Semi-Final Week

Two of the Big Four sports (although decidedly the #3 & #4 of the Big Four) are in the midst of their respective semi-final rounds. In both cases (Basketball and Hockey, in case you live in a cave in Africa with no link to the outside world other than this blog), the semis are looking like a case of the haves and the have-nots.
In the NBA, the L.A. Lakers are manhandling the Phoenix Suns, holding a 2-0 lead in the series as of this writing. Likewise, the Boston Celtics have been taking the favored Orlando Magic to the proverbial

It's down to four now. Four teams, one dream - the NBA Championship. As I write this, the Boston Celtics have already upset the favored Orlando Magic in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. So many little nuggets to cover this week that I can't narrow it down to just one. Not even just one sport. So here we go -
#1 Dallas Braden. Who? You may know him as the pitcher who threw a hissy-fit at ARod earlier this year. Or you may not know him at all. But know he's the 19th pitcher in MLB history to throw a perfect game, as he lead the A's to a 4-0 win over the league leading Rays on Mother's Day.

MLB Report

Major League Baseball is back. Has been for a while, actually, but with the NFL draft and March Madness and NASCAR, I haven't had a chance to say much about America's Pastime yet this year.
Twenty-five games into the season, nobody would be surprised that the best record in the majors (17-8) belongs to a team in the AL East. After all, the Yankees and Red Sox have been spending their way to the top for years. But no, the team at 17-8 looking down on everyone else is neither the bullies from New York nor the snobs from
