With Ronald A. Rowe away on special assignment, the WMG editorial team decided that rather than finding an interim writer, they would choose the five most important sporting events for the coming weekend. Looking at the schedule for the weekend, it seemed to be a pretty quiet weekend in sports: preseason NFL football games that are filled with second and third string players, no major baseball match-ups, and NCAA football still two weeks away.
