Fantasy Football Midseason

nflThe competition is getting tough.  There are clear leaders emerging within your league.  You notice the leaders on your own team and play them each week.  Now, what can you do to turn the tide toward your favor or hang on to the lead that you have gained?  You need to revisit your strategy and make some adjustments for the midseason.

We all want to win our league whether it is for money, prizes or even just bragging rights.  Chances are that unless luck and skill are both in your favor, you have a weak link or two on your team.  You  even may be riddled with injured players.  There are a few things that you can do to get your dignity back.

First, realize who the studs on your team are.  This is really easy, they are the guys you are talking about each week because of all the points they score for you.  Then look into the scrubs.  Which players are doing nothing but filling a spot on the roster?  Lastly, do you have any positions with two studs?  For instance, I have Peyton Manning and Ben Rothlesberger who are both big points people for me.

Once this is all discovered, go dive into the free agency pool.  Most are set up by different positions.  For instance, if you desperately need a good running back to get you some more points, look at running backs.  Sometimes, you will find a sleeper who scores tons of points and no one even realizes they are in the pool.  However, you almost always will find someone better than the scrub you don’t want or the player injured for the season.  Simply pick this new player up and cut the old one from the roster.

Next, do the same process above for your competition.  Where are they strong and weak?  If they are weak in the QBs arena but have an overflow of RBs, offer a trade.  A fair trade that will benefit both people almost always is accepted.

Without a solid roster and good strategy you are doomed for ridicule and defeat.
